Saicho - Jasmine Sparkling Tea
Saicho Jasmine Sparkling Tea is a sophisticated non-alcoholic beverage crafted from single-origin jasmine green tea sourced from Fuding, Fujian province, China. This sparkling tea offers a delicate floral aroma with notes of apple sherbet, lychee, and vanilla, making it a refreshing aperitif or a delightful accompaniment to various dishes.
The green tea used in Saicho Jasmine is grown at an altitude of approximately 500 meters in the mountains of Fuding. The tea leaves, from the Fuding Big White Leaf cultivar, are hand-harvested in early spring, dried, and stored until summer when jasmine flowers bloom. The blossoms are picked at midday and layered over the tea leaves, allowing their fragrance to infuse the tea overnight. This process is repeated over several nights to achieve a perfectly balanced aroma.
Aroma: Intense jasmine blossom fragrance with hints of fresh-cut pear and subtle woody pine notes.
Palate: Off-dry and very floral, with flavors of apple sherbet, lychee, and vanilla. Elegant, slightly chewy tannins, a soft mouthfeel, and lively acidity are enhanced by gentle bubbles.
Goes with: Creamy desserts, Spicy Asian salads, Elderflower jellies, Ripe soft cheese, Spicy deep fried dishes
