Giesen

The world’s first alcohol-free Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc — a New Zealand original.

The House

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand

Giesen released the world’s first alcohol-free Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

The three brothers Theo, Alex and Marcel Giesen emigrated from Germany to New Zealand in 1981 and planted their first vines. Today Giesen is one of the country’s best-known, multi-award-winning wineries — famous for Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

The 0% range is made from the original wine and gently de-alcoholised by spinning cone — Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Merlot, with every aroma kept in the glass.

History

German roots, Kiwi nerve

Drawn by the nature, climate and winegrowing potential, the Giesen family emigrated to New Zealand’s South Island in 1981. What began with the first vines grew into a winery known worldwide for innovation — and into pioneers of alcohol-free New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

The People

Theo, Alex & Marcel Giesen

Three brothers with German roots and New Zealand drive. With their signature Sauvignon Blanc they were the first to bring an alcohol-free Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc to the world.

Beautiful wines to share — with or without the alcohol.

Terroir

Marlborough — home of Sauvignon Blanc

Marlborough, at the top of the South Island, pairs abundant sunshine with cool nights. That range yields the unmistakable, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc — with notes of lime, blackcurrant and passionfruit.

The Craft

How the 0% wines are made

It starts with a complete, real Giesen wine.

01

Original wine

The starting point is Giesen’s own, fully vinified wine.

02

Spinning cone

At low temperature the alcohol is gently removed.

03

Aroma recovery

The natural aromatics are captured and returned — every note stays in the glass.

At the Table

How to serve it

The Sauvignon Blanc shines with fish, seafood, salads and goat’s cheese; the Pinot Gris with white meat and poultry; the Merlot with pasta and Mediterranean dishes.

Conscience

Low calorie, ≤ 0.5%

The wines are alcohol-removed (max 0.5% vol) and low in calories — full flavour, light enjoyment.
