The House

Amesco is the alcohol-free range of the biodynamic Lenz winery.
Roland and Karin Lenz have run their estate in Iselisberg, Thurgau, since 1994 — one of Switzerland’s largest Demeter wineries (27 ha), Demeter-certified since 2019. Since 2023 the house focuses exclusively on PIWI (fungus-resistant) varieties.
Together with Sabine Reber (Amesco) they created the first three alcohol-free wines — Cuvée Weiss, Barrique Weiss and Cuvée Rosé — from robust varieties such as Cabernet Blanc, Souvignier Gris, Muscaris, Cabernet Jura and Muscat Bleu.
History
Biodynamic by conviction
Roland Lenz committed fully to wine in 1993 — and, due to an allergy, to organic farming from the start. Eight hectares grew into one of Switzerland’s largest Demeter wineries, which since 2023 grows only PIWI varieties. Amesco added the alcohol-free range.
