Amesco – Pioneer from Zurich
For Amesco, it’s all about wine, but without the alcohol. Founder Sabine Reber comes from the wine world and asked herself: Why should people give up the rituals and aromas of wine just because they don’t want to drink alcohol?
Instead of buying a standard process, she developed her own gentle filtration system together with partner wineries. The alcohol is carefully removed without heat, so that bouquet and structure remain intact. Production is small-scale, using Swiss grapes – and you can taste the difference.
NINO – Sparkling Teas with Ambition
NINO took a different path. Founders Maximilian Näf and Mudi El Saghir didn’t want to create a wine imitation but something of their own. Their solution: Sparkling Teas, composed of fine teas, fruits, and botanicals, reminiscent of champagne in complexity and elegance.
The focus is on precision: teas such as Jasmine Silver Needle or Oolong are cold-brewed, then combined with verjus and hops to create a multi-layered drink. The result is an alcohol-free sparkling alternative with its own identity – dry, floral, and surprising.
REBELS 0.0% – the Cheers Revolution
REBELS 0.0% brings bar culture into the alcohol-free era. The founders from Zurich were frustrated with sweet sodas as substitutes and developed spirits without alcohol but with real character.
Botanicals such as juniper or cardamom are macerated and distilled – often twice – but without alcohol as a base. The result is alternatives to gin, rum, or amaretto that can be used 1:1 for cocktails and long drinks. REBELS confidently call this the “Cheers Revolution.”
